The Region VI Head Start Association, in collaboration with the Texas Head Start Association and H.G. Jones & Associates, proudly presents the 2025 Southwestern Head Start Fall Conference, themed "60 Years of Head Start: Honoring the Past, Empowering the Present, Inspiring the Future." This milestone event will take place from October 21 to 24, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. The agenda features keynote presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enhance early childhood education and family services.

This session will strengthen participants' knowledge and skills for meeting the requirements outlined in Part 1302 of the federal regulations regarding Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA). Participants will explore new ideas, strategies, solutions, and best practices for successfully leading, managing, and implementing ERSEA processes. Ultimately, the session will assist programs to understand better that ERSEA means access to services, not service delivery.

The ERSEA Certification Review and Exam is a day-and-a-half session to prepare each participant for the comprehensive ERSEA Certification Exam. The Exam includes 100 questions designed to test each participant's skills, knowledge, and understanding of the ERSEA process. Upon satisfactory completion of the Certification process, the ERSEA Certification will be good for one (1) year. After one year, it must be renewed by the completion of a ERSEA Re-Certification training and successful completion of the Re-Certification exam.

The Texas Head Start Association (TXHSA), H.G. Jones & Associates (HGJA), ESC Region 19 Head Start, and a coalition of state, local, and corporate partners are proud to present the "Smooth Entry Texas" Masterclasses, part of a series aimed at addressing the key issues in under-enrollment in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. These professional development sessions will help participants identify and analyze the root causes of under-enrollment, engage in strategic action planning to meet ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance) goals, and implement targeted strategies to overcome enrollment challenges both in the Texas state regionally and nationally.
